Event Schedule
The provisional schedule for Watkins Glen has been released and the IGT sessions are highlighted by testing available on Wednesday afternoon and Thursday morning. An IGT practice session on Thursday afternoon, qualifying on Friday and two sprint races on Saturday. Then Sunday the IGT combined enduro is first race in the morning. Meet The Mission Foods GT3 Cup Points Leader Albert Lukazik
Albert Lukazik has had a busy year in 2021. He competed in his first International GT event at Sebring in February. He took over as the Mission Foods GT3 Cup Championship points leader after the race at Lime Rock Park in May and now going into the summer break, he continues as the points leader!
As they say…”speed wins races, consistency wins championships”! Albert is learning the value of consistency. He has not missed an IGT race this season and his points tally reflects it.
Albert is often seen at the track with his lovely wife, Judit. In the photo to the left at Lime Rock, his home track, he also brought along his beautiful daughter, Mira. Albert and his family have been a welcome addition to the IGT paddock.
Albert’s #47, 3.8 liter Porsche is prepared and supported by SpeedSport Racing from Danbury, CT.
The points will shake up when we begin dropping events from the totals to get each competitor’s total down to the best results in 12 sprint races and 6 enduros. With the cancelation of the Savannah race, one of the upcoming events could have the potential to become double points…stay tuned!
