Debuting Mission Foods GT3 Driver Todd Sloan Wins Sunday Enduro; Mark Sandridge Sweeps GT3 Sprints; Henry Davis, Bill Riddell Win Stuttgart Cup Cayman Races

LEXINGTON, Ohio (June 29, 2015) – One of the best weekends of competition on record for The Stuttgart Cup™ and Mission Foods GT3 Cup Trophy USA went down at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course this past weekend where first-time series drivers and familiar veterans alike won races in the SVRA Mid-Ohio Vintage Grand Prix.

Although rainy weather presented a challenge during the weekend, all three of the scheduled Stuttgart Cup and Mission Foods GT3 Cup races were run in dry conditions. Sunday’s weekend-ending enduro even took place under blue skies and sunshine.

Debuting Mission Foods GT3 Cup driver, Todd Sloan, came home a winner his first time out when he captured class and overall honors in Sunday’s enduro. Sloan, driving his No. 71 Porsche GT3 Cup prepared by Chip Vance and Auto Assets, also hit the podium in Friday’s opening sprint race of the weekend with a third-place showing.

The weekend’s only double winner was Mark Sandridge who captured both the Friday and Saturday sprints, also taking class and overall honors, in his No. 25 Porsche GT3 Cup.

Veteran Porsche racer, Larry Schumacher, finished second in the Friday sprint in the No. 99 Porsche GT3 Cup. He then turned the car over to John O’Steen, another longtime Porsche driver, who drove the No. 99 to runner-up honors in Saturday’s sprint.

Sloan, Sandridge, Schumacher and O’Steen are all from Ohio and made sure the Buckeye State was well represented in victory lane at their “home track” of Mid-Ohio.

Third-place in Saturday’s sprint went to another driver making his Mission Foods GT3 Cup debut, Tom Martin, who also captured third in the Sunday enduro. Martin drives the No. 22 Winding Road Porsche GT3 Cup, out of Austin, Texas, and co-drove in the enduro with his father, Tom Martin Sr.

The final GT3 podium player was yet another Porsche driver making his Mission Foods debut, John Higgins, who finished second in the enduro in his No. 461 Porsche GT3 Cup.

The weekend’s pair of Stuttgart Cup Cayman sprint races were split between Friday winner, Henry Davis, and Saturday’s victor, Bill Riddell.

Davis drove his Classic Auto Restoration Services (CARS) prepared No. 21 Cayman S to his first Mid-Ohio victory. He shared the Friday podium with race runner-up, Riddell, who drives the Racelink No. 05 Cayman S, and third-place finisher, Rick Stavola, and his No. 22 Bodymotion Cayman S.

Joining Riddell on the Saturday Stuttgart Cup podium was Mike Cassling, who took second in his CARS No. 2 Cayman S. Third went to Tom Kievet who recorded his first Stuttgart Cup top-three finish in his No. 27 Bodymotion Cayman S.
