2023 Season Kicks Off at Sebring with Sold Out Field

IGT

We left Sebring after having completed three International GT races with a full field and great racing throughout!

Dominate performances came from STEPHEN HAMMAN #72 TLM Racing winning all three of the Mission Foods GT3 Cup GT4.0I class races and SCOTT BLIND #45 Ruckus Racing who stood on the top step of the podium for all three GT4.0 races. Remarkably Scott was able to find a hat to match his unmistakable livery. COLIN COHEN #15 Norwood Auto Italia won all three races in the F458 category and TOM McGLYNN #110 another from the 901 Shop stable swept the GT3.6 class.

Running in the Exhibition category at the front of the field JUAN LOPEZ-SANTINI #8 in his Audi R8 took two overall wins, while 901 Shop teammate JERONIMO GUZMAN #7 won sprint 2.

Other big wins in the Mission Foods GT3 Cup category went to MARCOS VENTO #18X in the GT3.8 class in sprint race 1 and the enduro. GT3.8 sprint race 2 was won by NATHAN BYRD #88 TLM Racing. Nathan also finished second in the enduro. REG WILLIAMS #008 Goldcrest Motorsports won in GT4.R sprint race 2 and the enduro, while TOM PANK #42 Ultra Performance won the GT4.R sprint race 1.

Caymans, Caymans, Caymans AKA: Stuttgart Cup

IGT

Before we move on to highlight other great podium finishes in the Mission Foods GT3 Cup categories, we have to give a big shout out the Stuttgart Cup competitors – the largest field for the weekend and Caymans enjoyed some great racing battles!! Several newcomers to the series, showed they found a terrific fit with International GT.

DERICK COOPER #14 AutoQuest Motorsports won sprint race 1. While another new face in the IGT paddock,

JF FORMELA #321 took the wins in sprint race 2 and Sunday’s enduro. We always love a family-affair and the Formela’s didn’t let us down with JF’s wife ZOE BARRY FORMELA #11 finishing on the podium in sprint race 1.

Another making his IGT Series debut was STEVEN THOMAS #727 Pinnacle Motorsports. Steven took a second in sprint 2 and third in the enduro.

MATT JOFFE Extreme Velocity Motorsports in his beautiful #99 car finished second the sprint race 2. While not on the podium this time, we warmly welcome Matt’s EVM teammate to his first IGT race, JOE MAIURO #23 in the very recognizable and historic “pink pig” livery.

A Variety of Mission Foods GT3 Cup Cars on the Podium

We will start with our largest Mission Foods GT3 Cup category, 3.8 liter. In addition to the above winners, JAVIER RIPOLL #191 in his Citi Marine Motors car was runner up in sprint race 1.

DAVID HERRINGTON #20 shared driving duties with son DANIEL HERRINGTON and took a third in sprint race 1, a second in sprint race 2 and another third in the enduro.

Moving to the GT4.0 class another father/son duo, PAUL and JOHN REISMAN #75 Hudson Historics finished second in the enduro. The car sporting IGT Series sponsor Interlaken Inn near Lime Rock Park.

Although we are used to seeing Stephen on the podium often, dad had a great weekend too! JIM HAMMAN #176 TLM Racing took second in sprint 1 and a pair of thirds in sprint 2 and the enduro. Could it be the new beautiful blue livery?

New to the series, CHARLIE CRAIG #761 Speedsport finished third in the first sprint race in his awesome American flag livery.

In the 4.0I class, as mentioned Stephen Hamman swept the wins however TLM Racing team boss DAVID TUATY #68 was on his heels all weekend finished runner up in each race.

Although he chased some mechanical gremlins early in the weekend, MARK HUPFER #84 took a strong third place finish in sprint race 2.

Series founder, BILL RIDDELL #777 teamed up with co-driver SHANE LEWIS to complete the enduro podium finishing third.

Another newcomer to the series, PRICE FORD #112 Goldcrest Motorsports finished third in sprint race 1.

In the Mission Foods GT3 Cup 4.R class, BOB NEAPOLE #67 Hudson Historics had a great weekend taking home a third in sprint race 1 and a second place finish in sprint race 2.

After handily securing the 2022 Maranello Cup championship, JUAN FAYEN#17 FMS Motorsports is getting familiar with his new Porsche GT4.R car and finished third on the podium in sprint race 2 and the enduro.

Returning from a bit of a racing hiatus we were happy to welcome back MARK SANDRIDGE #58 Salad Racing in his iconic Brumos Racing livery. Mark teamed with OWEN TRINKLER to finish second in the enduro.
