IGT at Lime Rock Park
Presented by Interlaken Inn

IGT

It’s race week at beautiful Lime Rock Park! We want to thank the Interlaken Inn for presenting the event and wish all the competitors the best for the two-days of racing. SVRA has graciously given IGT our own sessions and we look forward to some fantastic racing!!

Road America – Great Racing In America’s Heartland

This was the view that the IGT competitors saw most of the weekend at Road America. Cooper MacNeil came with a new RSR just arriving from Germany and swept all three races running in the Exhibition category.Cooper is headed to Le Mans in a couple weeks and we wish him all the best at the 24 Hour race. We’re rooting for you Cooper!

In the 4.R category Reg Williams took a double win in both sprint races and second in the enduro on Sunday. Tom Pank was close on Williams heels taking a second in sprint race 1 and winning the endruo on his birthday! While Juan Gonzalez fought a hard battle to take a second in sprint race and third in the first sprint race.

Series veteran Todd Sloan swept the 4.1 category winning all three races followed very closely by Tim Savage. We assume Todd and Tim would have had a run for their money with Stephen Hamman. However disappointedly Stephen was the victim of an incident in the first sprint race which ended the weekend for the younger Hamman. Suspension and probation are pending for the offending driver.

As always the biggest category and possibly best racing came in the GT3.8 category, with Lukas Pank winning all three races! We’re all hoping his dad (Tom Pank) will buy him a bumper cover as a reward!!

Mark Hupfer took a pair of seconds in sprint race 1 and 2 and paired with car owner Paul Mortimer for the enduro. Jody Miller was third in sprint race 2 and shared the ride with Pippa Mann to secure second in the enduro.

In the 4.0 category it was a mix up. Mark Mathys won sprint 1 and the enduro, Marcel Fayen was a solid second in all three races which will really help his championship points and Nick Groombridge had a couple of thirds but catapulted to first in the Sunday enduro!

Mike Ward swept the Cayman category, Seb Coppola topped the Ferrari 458 category and Juan Fayen won all three races in the Ferrari 488GT class.

IGT Sends “Get Well” to Series Founder, Bill Riddell

Unfortunately, Bill had a nasty run-in with an electric saw and almost lost a thumb. He is headed to surgery this week to repair the damage. Our best wishes for Bill to be back racing in IGT very soon.
